Professional Statement:

Nathaniel ("Nate") Tawney is a member in the Business Litigation Group who primarily specializes in defending deliberate intent cases, a relatively unique statutory cause of action in West Virginia. He represents a variety of employers in these matters, including those in the coal, oil and gas, timber, construction, mining and drilling industries. He also counsels clients on regulatory matters (OSHA and MSHA), preventative measures, and proper investigation and documentation of work-place accidents.

Nate also possesses experience in a wide variety of civil litigation matters, including negligence/personal injury cases, predatory lending cases, legal and professional malpractice cases, ERISA preemption/litigation matters, product liability cases and appellate work.
