Rick Jones and Amy Humphreys obtained a defense verdict for a general surgeon in a medical malpractice action in the Circuit Court of Mercer County. The plaintiff alleged that the surgeon breached the standard of care in failing to appreciate the significance of the patient's abdominal complaints. After a six day trial, the jury returned a unanimous verdict in favor of the surgeon, finding that the surgeon had not breached the standard of care.
