Stephen Brooks and David Givens obtained a defense verdict in a medical malpractice and wrongful death case where the plaintiff alleged that the defendant neurologist negligently misdiagnosed a patient with a neurological condition known as the Miller Fisher variant of Guillan Barre Syndrome, which in turn, caused the patient a loss of a chance to have an early detection of cancer. After an eight day trial, the six-person jury rendered a unanimous verdict for all defendants, finding that the standard of care was met.
