Appellate and Dispositive
Practice Group
As the largest defense litigation firm in the
State, it is logical that the Firm has a strong appellate and
dispositive practice component. FS&B is proud that it is highly
regarded for its bright, articulate cadre of lawyers who understand
the fine points of the law and can write and argue persuasively.
The Firm’s appellate and dispositive practice group attorneys
are admitted to practice and have argued successfully on behalf
of our clients in all West Virginia courts including administrative
courts, circuit courts and the West Virginia Supreme Court of
Appeals. Our attorneys have appeared in the federal district courts
located in West Virginia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth
and Third Circuits, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Also, FS&B attorneys have appeared and presented successful argument
in Pennsylvania, Ohio and other jurisdictions, as the needs of
our clients have required.
FS&B attorneys not only appear on behalf of
litigants who prosecute or defend an appeal or seek to dispose
of a case prior to trial, we have also filed numerous amicus curiae
(“friend of the court”) briefs on behalf of clients who want to
educate the court on important social policy issues which will
be implicated by the Court’s decision in a particular case. |
